Re-Vamped Concept

Stakeholders from SF Life Line came to pitch their ideas at one of Code for SF’s meetings. The highlights for the presentation are intriguing.

Patient Audience

SF Life Line has a specific target audience.

The majority of the patients are Elderly Asian residents living in SF Chinatown.

They reside in low-income housing in the area.

Mostly are monolingual. Mainly speak Cantonese/Mandarin, Russian, & Spanish.

The distribution of medical information has been a great way to ensure timely patient care. We found some organizations who are currently doing the same.

Life Line’s Distribution Day

Distribution Day took place on November 28, 2023.

These were the steps that the SF Line members used to create the resident’s cards containing their medical information.

Member groups featured an EMT, a volunteer, & a translator.

It was enlightening to find the various results & perspectives from the members as well as the residents.

Journey Map

The pages above are the classic Life Line information form.

The left page is the patient form that they fill out on Distribution Days. The right page describes possible & potential symptoms the patients may be experincing.

After comparing notes & testimonies from members , we were able to find common themes & needs that our users experienced during Distribution Day.

These themes included, hesitancy & trust issues among residents & Life Line members & its purpose, difficulties obtaining patient info, communication barriers, & lots of preparations.

SF Life Line’s Promotions

This is an existing promo form that the original SF Life Line team designed.

The promo features both English & Mandarin translations.

User Research

We created a Github repository to document our research findings.

I created a project overview page based on our findings.

In our Github repository, we created a kanban board to document & track the various points that could potentially be used for user stories.

The points were based on our findings from our most recent Distribution Day.
