ADP List Scheduling Conflicts
ADP List has been a haven for those like myself, struggling to get our feet in the door when it’s come to the UX field within Tech. Mentoring has been a great way for both parties to achieve their goals. Mentorees get amazing advice & the mentors get street cread for being a mentor. I’ve struggled to get a mentor that fits my needs. This case study is an example of it.
Role
Branding, UI design, graphic design
Tools
Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Duration
September-December 2022
The Idea: A way to accurately ensure that the times are booked are the actual times selected.
I met & connected with a potential mentor. Her name was Tamar Levy. She’s based in Canada, so there was a time difference (+3 hours, EST).
I had sent her a request to meet with her on the given date & time. Both were confirmed. I was really excited to meet her.
I went to the meeting room fully prepared for the mentoring session.
I waited in the meeting room for the entire duration of the meeting, before signing off. I sent her messages, she didn’t respond to any of them until after the session ended.

Unfortunately, when the meeting ended, so did all the chat records.
We agreed to reschedule the meeting at a later day.
Tamar Levy was talking to tech support while she and I were chatting.

She urged me to contact them. They wanted me to send them a screenshot of my google calendar’s event. Which I didn’t have.
I checked all my calendars (Google, iCal, etc.), I could find none indicating I even had an event.
Another issue I faced was that the mentor, Tamara claimed that the meeting was at 4pm (PST).
I had no recollection of making the appointment at 4pm (PST).
“Hmm. That’s very strange. You didn’t receive the calendar notification? Strange.”
Tamara's Google Calendar notification.
My email confirmation & notification of the event.
More to come…
